Postdoctoral Research Fellow (fixed-term)

Grade 7

We're hiring a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Mapping Global China (MGC) team at Oxford's Department of Politics and International Relations. This fixed-term, Grade 7 position runs for 10 months from 1 September 2026 and offers an early-career scholar the chance to help shape one of the most ambitious platforms in Global China research — combining empirical research, large-scale datasets, geospatial analysis, and digital cartography. We welcome applicants who hold (or are close to completing) a PhD in International Relations, Political Science, China Studies, Geography, Development Studies, or a related field, and who are excited by collaborative, data-driven research.
